Novamet Specialty Products
is an engineered materials company, focused on developing and processing metal powders. Novamet was formed in 1976 in Sterling Forest, New York as a new product development group within International Nickel Company (INCO), a Canadian nickel mining company. Novamet relocated to Wyckoff, New Jersey in 1980. In 2010, Novamet was purchased by its current private owner/operators. In 2014, Novamet relocated its entire operation, including its production, quality assurance and administrative staff, from New Jersey to a 100,000 square foot facility in Lebanon, Tennessee, 20 miles east of Nashville.

Novamet Specialty Products
produces more than 60 different products including specialty nickel oxides, coated materials, tightly sized nickel powders, and metallic flakes. Novamet specializes in products customized to meet their diverse customer needs. By utilizing heat treating, milling, chemical processing, blending, air classification, and screening, the plant produces precision-engineered products to the most exacting specifications.
Novamet’s goal is to provide products that satisfy the needs of the most advanced and demanding customers. When a standard product cannot satisfy a customer’s specific need, Novamet works discreetly with those customers to design and produce a product that meets or exceeds the specific customer’s requirements.
Novamet has been registered to ISO 9001 since 1998 and was last re-certified in 2022.

What is Ultra Fine Specialty Products?
In 2020, a group of managers from Novamet purchased the assets of an atomization operation in Woonsocket, Rhode Island which now operates as Ultra Fine Specialty Products producing fine gas atomized powders. Ultra Fine adds further capabilities to Novamet as the only production facility in the US regularly producing gas atomized, sub-22 micrometer metal powders. Ultra Fine can supply various sizes and alloys of products to Novamet or its customers. Ultra Fine has achieved AS9100 certification and is the only US based gas atomizer to produce super fine alloy powders.
